Peter Maina is the Managing Partner of Peter Maina & Company Advocates and an advocate of the High Court of Kenya.

His practice covers the full breadth of the firm’s work. He structures and closes corporate and commercial transactions, advises lenders and borrowers on banking, finance and the security that stands behind it, and conducts conveyancing and real estate matters from due diligence through registration, for clients in Kenya and abroad.

He acts in employment and labour matters for employers and employees, litigates commercial, land and constitutional disputes before the superior courts and tribunals, and guides families and their businesses through trusts, succession and estate planning.

He advises on intellectual property in the commercial context where it most often arises, licensing, franchising and brand protection within transactions.

On the regulatory side he advises boards on corporate governance and takes clients through licensing and compliance before the Capital Markets Authority and the Central Bank of Kenya, from fund managers and investment platforms to virtual asset businesses.

A systematic and meticulous lawyer, he couples close attention to the detail of a document with a broader view of the whole matter, which is what makes him both effective and efficient on every brief the firm takes on.
